Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress acting as the bright and interesting girl who played Holly Hunter's lead role in The Piano. When she answered an open audition call, she won the role as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. The actress was just nine, and she had no prior experience in acting. Her move to the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance as Jane Eyre in the film when she was still a toddler. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She portrayed teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
