Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends football scholarships for his family and service in the local community. He is the youngest child of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They took care of him at the farm they owned in Eufala. In second football, he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. For 1973 Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for a single season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the nation's top lineman. Oklahoma has won two National Championships during his time as a lineman. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship, and was awarded the title of an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received a degree in education. Fourth Service in college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. In Tampa He played with the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began a career in business. In 1988, he was appointed an account liaison officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's top young men. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighted 256 lbs. He played for his school's team in the year 1975. He was named associate director of Athletics at the University of South Florida, in 1993. It was the College Football Hall of Fame was named for him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame was in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989 in 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
